Facilitated student workshops
A Hypersketch workshop is a facilitated creative-thinking experience that helps students explore broadly, notice unexpected possibilities, exercise judgement and develop an original proposition — while using AI as a creative-thinking partner rather than an answer machine.
Standard format: approximately 2 hours, with an optional 30-minute buffer for additional immersion, sharing or Q&A.
Not an AI software lesson
The objective is broader than teaching students how to operate image-generation software. They practise a sequence of moves that transfers to any creative problem they meet later.
AI expands the possibilities available to the student. Human judgement decides what happens next.
The learning outcomes
Create multiple directions instead of committing to the first familiar solution.
Notice useful or surprising qualities in rough outcomes and happy innovation accidents.
Deliberately push AI away from predictable answers.
Interpret what AI produces through human needs, behaviours and experience.
Judge ideas using human value, attractiveness, originality and plausibility.
Add, remove, change and regenerate intentionally towards a chosen vision.
Explain what it is, who it is for and why it matters.
What the two hours look like
01
~10 min
Creative confidence, and withholding premature judgement.
02
~15 min
Students rapidly create rough visual starting material.
03
~20 min
Students deliberately use AI to generate unexpected possibilities.
04
~25 min
Students examine the possibilities, identify what deserves attention and connect visual surprises to human behaviours, needs and experiences.
05
~15 min
Students decide what the emerging idea might really become, and which direction is worth pursuing.
06
~25 min
Students move from being provoked by AI to deliberately directing it.
AI provokes the student → the student directs the AI
07
~10 min
Students explain what the proposition is, who it is for, what makes it valuable or interesting, and how their thinking changed.
The timings are indicative and may be adapted to cohort, age and workshop format.
The particular product or design challenge is adapted to the students’ age, experience level and the school’s areas of interest, while preserving the core learning outcomes.
What your school receives
Your teachers do not need to prepare or deliver the workshop. We run the experience for you.
We have facilitated hands-on sessions for students and educators in groups ranging from approximately 10 to 300 participants.
This has included a 150-participant combined-schools workshop held at the invitation of Singapore’s Ministry of Education HQ.
After the workshop
Saved work remains available to the student when they return using the same authorised account. A paid generation licence is required principally for continued AI generation.
Schools that want students to continue creating can move into an individual, cohort, term or whole-school licence. Email hello@hypersketch.com to discuss the options.
